What I’m struck by

Just listening to Wes Clark and the crowd, I can tell that we, as a party are very optimistic about this year. Everyone always says that “this is our year.” There is a sea change, though. Something that is almost palapable; the way that people crave change.
Nowhere is that more palpable than right here: Ground Zero for activists who want nothing more than to change this entire country this November. The theme that is inescapable is that everything starts in Texas. This election isn’t just about “local shool boards,” it is about what we can do nationally. We’ve got problems and it is going to take a big step to fix them. We’re going to have to elect Democrats.
Sitting on the floor here at the convention, sitting amongst the hardest of the hardcore, it is not hard to believe that this is the year. That we can make that change. “Enough is enough.”

I’m not the only one on the floor. Several other bloggers (about a dozen of us) are actually blogging Clark’s entire speech and will follow with Bell’s keynote address.
Check out Damon at BOR, Anna’s DailyKos diary and Vince Leibowitz.

Hurry, hurry

We went to the Wesley Clark press conference and had to rush to get to the floor for his opening speech tonight. These are amazing seats, we’re in front of the regular press and we have tables.
We’re getting quite a spiel about how great President Wes Clark would have been. Lot’s of red meat for the party faithful on this opening night. Anna and I got our pictures taken with him, that was amazing.
And Clark takes the stage…
